tradition

July 5, 2009

every new years since i was about ten i watched the twilight zone marathon with my mom.

i loved watching it with her.

we even taped them, because back then you never knew when they’d air those shows again.

i was so happy to see that the sci fi channel was airing the marathan for the forth of july.

it’s like a pre celebration of the new year for me, even though it’s six months away.

i can’t tell you how many times i’ve seen certain episodes and believe it or not there are some i’ve never seen because they are too eerie.

one of my favorites is going my way.

this women is driving down one of those desolate roads in the west and she keeps seeing the same man.

she doesn’t want to pick him up because he seems strange and no matter how long she drives there he is before her on the road hitchhiking.

finally she drives and drives and when it seems she has lost him, there he is in her back seat.

he quietly says to her, ” going my way?”

so sad, you can’t out drive death.
