the man who cried

a story about a little girl from russia who becomes an orphan after her village is destroyed.

placed on a ship bound for england, she is renamed and given to a british family.

while in school one day, she notices some gypsies and begins to sing a song.

a teacher over hears her lovely voice and decides to help the young girl with her english through music.

he teaches her didos lament.

her short performance is so heartbreaking.

she gives the best scenes in the film.

amazing, the power of music.
