poem 422

July 25, 2010

in bondage they laid away their hopes.

and forgot of tales and dreams.

they forgot the rolling ways of life.

and patterns of stars it seems.

away was the way of fathers before.

and mothers whose breasts bore life.

away was the force that drove them then,

that guided them with light.

chosen now were deeds that did nothing for the whole.

and even though some remembered.

they never ate of gold.
